June 27th, 2018 -  We were invited to the very first Fun-D raiser by our friends at The Thread STL. Tim Ezell & Virginia Kerr were both reporters at rival stations when Tim left to become a Minister and Virginia started her own business. They later joined forces & created the first non-profit tv show in our area, focusing on good things happening in our community, and the show was a hit!

Making A Difference was invited, and MAD not only showed up as an organization who supports The Thread STL but Tony was one of the five Chefs filling everyone's stomachs with delicious food!  We love The Thread STL and you will, too! Catch their show on Fox2Now!

June 2nd, 2018 - The Horseradish Festival in Collinsville was this weekend and MAD was there!  Copper Fire Bar & Eatery had a booth there and Tony happened to be their Executive Chef! He worked his magic and served freshly sliced brisket sandwiches with sauteed peppers, onions and a delicious horseradish & brie cream cheese spread. The best part of it all? Copper Fire donated ALL of the proceeds to Making A Difference!! We can't thank them enough!  Go eat there sometime, you'll love it!

April 4, 2018 - MAD founder Tony Hilker spoke at Ginger's memorial, which was a celebration of who she was.  Speaking for all of us afterwards, he posted about her on Facebook, stating 'I'm glad you're no longer in pain and with God now. We'll never forget your smile and sweet laugh that was as contagious as your heart. I'm happy that I will get to see you again one day. Rest in Heaven, sis.' An angel here on Earth, Ginger is now our angel in Heaven.

Community comes together for homeless veteran

June 6th, 2018 - Tony made a Facebook post, 'Our angel Ginger Mooney is still serving from Heaven!!! This evening, she sent her husband over with the last truck full of donations that she had collected. We will see each other again one day, my friend. But not today! Everyone misses you and we still share stories about all of the time you spent watching over so many of our displaced friends. From the second that Robin Wells Burton invited you to serve until the day you met Jesus, you never quit. Thank you for being a perfect example of community.' Anthony Mooney continues to serve, is a part of Making A Difference and we will always welcome him with open arms.

Making A Difference Home

June 6th, 2018 -  Today was a sweet blessing. One of our friends needed help and God sent us the means to help her. Momma Dee lives at one of the homeless camps and has been trying hard to get back on her feet. She was eligible to get an apartment, she just needed money for the deposit. So, with the help of Jim & Cathy Haeffner and everyone at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP, Momma Dee will be moving out of the camp and into her very own apartment! This is what making a difference is all about! This is why we love what we do!

March 30, 2018 - Our dear friend and fellow servant of God went to Heaven on this day. Ginger Mordis Mooney spent her lifetime taking care of her family, which consisted of her husband Anthony, her 6 children & 23 grandchildren plus she was a beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, niece, aunt & cousin.  A sweet lady with a big smile, Ginger was one of the kindest women we've ever met, and was very involved with helping the homeless. She was a volunteer who served with Making A Difference, Feed My Peeps, Moms On A Mission, and 618 Missing and Homeless for years, and was involved in street outreach. She was a blessing to many and made a huge impact on volunteers, those she served, and everyone she met.

Making A Difference's Facebook book post letting everyone know Mr. Bozman was on his way!

January 13, 2018 - We now have 10,000 followers on our Facebook page! FB has helped us reach so many people, and in turn, we were able to help more people in need. It truly takes a village and we have one great village working with us! Thank you to all of our supporters!  We look forward to making a difference with you for many more years!

June 5th, 2018 -  Today we made a difference, today we gave someone hope, today we let someone know they matter and that we care. Richard, also known as Wolf, lives at one of the homeless camps we serve and our supporters stepped up to give him this tent he's been wanting for a long time. Thank you to all of our supporters who make moments like this happen and for standing up for a great cause!

Check back soon! We'll be building this section up and have some great things planned for the summer!

June 20th, 2018 - One of our favorite people,  Wendell Phillips 'Phil' Berwick came by & blessed our #ServingShuttle with a tribute of Ginger.  A great friend, man, homeless advocate, and brother in Christ, Phil creates artwork known as Merfords, and this tribute was perfect for our shuttle that serves the very people Ginger cared for & loved. Tony drives this shuttle and he loves seeing this every day, knowing she's with him & watching over him as he's out serving, picking up donations and making a difference. Many thanks for such an awesome blessing!

June 18th, 2018 -  MAD Founder Tony Hilker did something he hasn't done in years, he went to school!  Mrs. Humphreys invited him to be a guest speaker in her summer session English class at Collinsville High School. Not only did Mrs. H. and her class listen as Tony talked about homelessness, they also discussed ways they can all help our homeless brothers & sisters.  Thank you for having us and for wanting to make a difference together!
